SSD市場にダークホースが襲来。
2023年に入り、やたら安価なM.2 SSDがAmazon.co.jpなどECサイトを中心に出没していることにお気づきでしょうか。
具体的には、中国YMTCの232層TLC NANDフラッシュを搭載したSSDが（特に2TB以上のモデルで）、シーケンシャルリード7GB/s超の速度とメジャーブランド製SSDを突き放す圧倒的な安さで出回っています。
YMTCの最先端NANDが投げ売りに？
突如相場を破壊する価格でSSDが販売され始めたのは何故か？
主な要因は、搭載するNANDフラッシュの製造メーカーが、長江メモリ(长江存储科技技有限责任公司/Yangtze Memory Technologies Corp: YMTC）であること。
YMTCは中国の半導体製造メーカーで、2022年末に独自の「Xtacking 3.0」アーキテクチャを用いて232レイヤーの積層数を実現したNANDフラッシュを出荷。
ダイマーク「EET1A」の232層TLC NAND（以降EET1A表記）は、容量1Tbで2,400 MT/sという仕様。EET1Aは、232層NANDとしてMicronやSamsungなどの大手に先駆け製品化された先進的なチップとなりました。
22年当時、AppleがYMTCをiPhone用のNANDサプライヤーとして検討しており、このEET1AがiPhone 14シリーズ向けに出荷される可能性が高いと考えられていました。
しかし、22年12月、米国商務省産業安全保障局(BIS)が、YMTCをエンティティリスト（禁輸措置対象リスト）へ追加。
結果的にAppleへの出荷予定も立ち消え、YMTCは国外企業への出荷が難しくなったことでEET1Aを含むYMTC製NANDが中国国内で買い叩かれることとなった……ようです。
Maxio MAP1602+YMTC 232L TLC NAND(EET1A)の超高コスパSSDが出回る
ということでEET1Aと、JMicron子会社のMaxio Technology製NVMeコントローラー「MAP1602」を組み合わせたSSDが中国メーカーを中心に多数出回り始めました。
それらのSSDでは、素のNAND速度とSLCキャッシュが効果的に働き、公称シーケンシャルリード7GB/s超、ライト6GB/s超という、他社ハイエンドSSDに匹敵するPCIe 4.0 x4接続SSDとしては最速クラスの速度を実現。
MAP1602はDRAMレスコントローラーのため、キャッシュメモリは非搭載ですが、HMB(Host Memory Buffer)対応でランダム性能も普通に速い。2TBモデルでの公称値はリード86万IOPS/ライト67万IOPS程度。
なお初期に話題となったのがHIKSEMIブランドの製品であったことから一部界隈では“蝉族SSD”と呼ばれているとかなんとか……
YMTC 232L TLC NAND(EET1A)搭載らしきSSD
前置きが長くなりましたが、ここからはMAP1602+EET1A搭載らしきSSDを紹介。EE1TAは1Tbチップなので、2TBなら2チップ、4TBなら4チップ構成となり、いずれも片面実装。
下記のSSDはいずれもコントローラーやNANDを製品仕様に明記しておらず、チップ構成が変更される可能性は十分にあり、確実にMAP1602+EET1Aという保証はないため、“NANDガチャを引く”と思って購入することを推奨。
Hiksemi (Hikvision)
現状、一番安牌な選択肢として挙がっているのが、HikvisionのHiksemi Futureシリーズ。国内流通品は代理店（株式会社Taurus）付き。
今のところ、確実にMAP1602+EET1A搭載モデルを買いたければFUTURE 4TBヒートシンク無しが安牌のようです。
一応メーカー（代理店）保証期間が5年あり、4TBモデルではTBWが7,200TBWというデータセンター（エンタープライズ）SSDに匹敵する異常な高耐久値ですが、本当にそんなに書込み耐性があるのかは未知数……
Monter Storage (Taurus)
Monter Storageは、前述のHiksemi代理店 株式会社Taurusの自社ブランド。
2.5″ SATAからPCIe 3.0/4.0 x4 M.2まで全てシリーズ名が「MS950」で統一されているという判り辛い製品名ですが、「MS950G75」がEET1A搭載と思しきモデル。MS950G70もMAP1602+EET1Aの報告アリ。
Lexar (Longsys)
中国Longsys Electronics傘下のブランドとなったLexarのNM790も、MAP1602+EET1A搭載の報告が多数。
LexarのSSD製品に関しては、SUNEASTなども取り扱う株式会社旭東トレーディングが国内代理店の模様。
G-Storategy (FFF)
FFF SMART LIFE CONNECTED株式会社 G-Storategyブランドの「NV470」も、MAP1602+EET1A構成の報告アリ。
TECLAST
TECLASTのNP700もMAP1602+EET1A報告アリ。
Hanye
HanyeのHE70/HE71もMAP1602+EET1Aの報告多数。
Ediloca
EN870でEET1A報告アリ。
Fikwot
FN955もEET1A報告アリ。
JNH
報告はないもののJNHのS750もそれっぽい仕様。
期間限定の祭りになりそうな予感
色々な事情が重なって生まれた特価品という特殊な位置づけの製品群で、YMTCのNAND事業の今後も不透明である以上、いつまでもこの価格の商品が出回ることは無いでしょう。
財布に余裕のある方は投げ売り祭りのおみくじSSDとして買ってみるのもアリではないでしょうか。
個人的にHIKSEMI FUTURE70-04TBは確保したので、その内簡単なレビューでも書こうと思います。
